Duties and Responsibilities

We are looking for a self-motivated Senior Systems Administrator that will be part of a team responsible for maintaining Overhead Door Corporations's core infrastructure. The applicant needs to demonstrate knowledge of several areas including Microsoft Active Directory, Group Policy, Windows administration (2003/2008/2012/7), VMWare, and Citrix. Existing knowledge of Citrix technologies including XenApp and XenDesktop is strongly desired.

* The applicant should be able to communicate and work with a group, and will be asked to interact with management in order to assist in making informed decisions.
* The position provides an exciting mix of implementing new technologies in addition to maintaining the existing infrastructure.
* Night/Weekend work will be required periodically.
* Excellent communication skills are required
* Work across several teams to restore service rapidly during an incident.
* Analyze the root cause of incidents through problem management process.
* Identify opportunities for system automation and process improvement.
* Provide and receive cross training from immediate support team.
* Drive Continual Service Improvement for ongoing issues.
* Responsible for deploying and the management of Xendesktop 7.5 and XenApp 7.6.
* Assist in the support of hardware and software systems. Configure new applications and upgrade systems.
* Plan the required maintenance of all software to provide a stable and reliable environment.
* Provide innovative ideas and solutions to platform issues.
* Ensure the high availability of the production environment.
* Develop and assist in the management and performance monitoring of the environment.
* Evaluate, implement, and integrate new hardware and software products and services.
* Monitor processor utilization and develop models for processor sizing and workload distribution.
* Develop, document and distribute production operational processes.
* Assist in the development and testing and support of the Disaster Recovery Plan.
* Implement and support projects including updating project plans/managers.
* Perform day to day support for customers, and all enterprise servers in a production and pre-production environments.
* Assist in the support of production hardware/software as well as application systems.
* Proactively manage alerts and escalations to closure.
* Maintain application and OS updates across servers and endpoint devices via SCCM management policies.
* Participate in customer support calls as needed.
* SA Engineering and Provisioning:
* Engineering of SA-related solutions for various project and operational needs.
* Install new / rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements.
* Install and configure systems
* Develop, follow and maintain installation and configuration procedures.
* Contribute to and maintain system standards.
* Research and recommend innovative, and where possible automated approaches for system administration tasks. Identify approaches that leverage our resources and provide economies of scale.

Operations and Support

* Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
* Perform regular file archival and purge as necessary.
* Create, change, and delete user accounts per request.
* Provide Tier III/other support per request from various constituencies. Investigate and troubleshoot issues.
* Repair and recover from hardware or software failures. Coordinate and communicate with impacted constituencies.

Maintenance

* Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities. Configure / add new services as necessary.
* Upgrade and configure system software that supports infrastructure applications or operational applications per project or operational needs.
* Maintain operational, configuration, or other procedures.
* Perform periodic performance reporting to support capacity planning.
* Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required. Configure CPU, memory, and disk partitions as required.

Qualifications

* 6+ years of experience as a Systems Administrator with increasing responsibility.
* Must have experience deploying and managing Xendesktop 7.5 and XenApp 7.6.
* Hands-on experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, Windows Server administration (2003/2008/2008R2), Windows 7 Administration, VMWare Infrastructure.
* Experience with Citrix XenApp, Citrix XenDesktop, Citrix NetScaler, Microsoft SCCM and Scripting, VMWare setup and administration.
* Knowledge of Fibre Channel Fabric / Storage Networks / Arrays - EMC SAN
* Desired:
* Citrix Certified Administrator (CCA)
* Citrix Certified Advanced Administrator (CCAA)
* Citrix Certified Enterprise Engineer (CCEE)

Education

* Bachelor's degree, with a technical major, such as engineering or computer science or equivalent work experience.
