Job Description:

Harris Geospatial is seeking a Senior Remote Sensing Scientist to support an exciting opportunity to work in a research and development with a Government customer in the Springfield, VA area. The Remote Sensor Scientist will apply engineering techniques to develop active or passive electro-optical and infrared remote sensing applications.

Essential Functions:

* Perform workflow development and scripting within the customer environment to create new tradecraft that leverages the HGSI Commercial product suite
* Optimize existing ENVI-based desktop tools for migration to a larger enterprise architecture
* Communicates within and outside of own function to gain cooperation on operational processes, practices, and procedures
* Makes moderate to substantial improvements to systems and processes
* Contributes to achievement of departmental goals and operating plans with direct impact on the departmental results

Qualifications:

* 6+ years with a bachelor's degree or equivalent

Preferred Additional Skills:

* Subject matter expert with comprehensive knowledge of job area and experience delivering tradecraft solutions into larger research environments desired
* Knowledge of job area and manages complex projects or processes with general oversight preferred
* Experience in the Defense and Intelligence community, with a focus on Tradecraft development within a Research and Development (R&D) Environment desired
* Experience testing workflows and testing remote sensing processing workflows
* Experience with spectral signatures and spectral libraries; data management and processing
* Experience running spectral tools and exploiting spectral data using Harris Tools and Applications
