Job Description

Job Responsibilities:

The SSA provides senior-level Sales Engineering support through the creation of technical solutions that may consist of hardware and software products, professional consulting and engineering services, managed services and staffing. This includes:

* Meeting with customers to assess business needs and solution requirements
* Explanation of solution architectures via whiteboarding, presentations and client interaction
* Creation of complex product solution configurations and associated Bills of Materials (BOMs)
* Detailed scoping of professional services engagements and creation of Statements of Work (SOWs)
* Involvement with professional services projects and managed service onboarding processes
* Assisting with customer satisfaction issues, technical problems and case escalation as needed
* Maintaining relationships with manufacturer engineers to stay current on product capabilities and to collaborate on customer solutions as necessary
* Attend training and technical conferences to support ePlus partner relationships and to stay current on technology industry trends
* Maintaining key manufacturer certifications related to personal technical specializations as well as company partner requirements
* Serve as thought leader in areas of technical specialization, supporting and mentoring other engineers and account executives as needed

Job Knowledge/Skills:

* Core technology knowledge - must be comfortably conversant in at least half of the following areas:
* IP networking
* Security fundamentals
* Modern application architectures
* Scripting/automation/orchestration tools and techniques
* One major operating system family - Windows or Linux
* One major public cloud provider - Amazon, Microsoft Azure or Google
* Compute fundamentals - server architecture and configuration
* Storage fundamentals - access protocols, data protection, performance, etc.
* Server/host virtualization - VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V or RedHat KVM
* Containers/microservices
* Unified communications/collaboration


* Specialized knowledge (subject matter expert level) in at least three (3) of the following areas:
* Network/security infrastructure - Cisco, Palo Alto, Juniper, CheckPoint, Fortinet, F5
* Application security - F5, Imperva, Splunk
* Cloud Access Security Brokers (CASBs) - Netskope
* Identity/access control - Cisco ISE, Aruba ClearPass, Forescout, ZScaler, Cyxtera
* Network segmentation and policy control - Cisco ACI, VMware NSX
* Data protection - Digital Guardian, Symantec, Varonis
* Endpoint protection - Cisco AMP, Palo Alto Traps, Cylance, CarbonBlack, Crowdstrike
* DNS/email - Cisco Umbrella/ESA/WSA, Proofpoint, Mimecast, FortiMail



Education and Experience:

* Bachelor's degree in related technology and 5+ years of experience, or Master's degree in related technology and +3 years of experience
* Multiple industry-recognized certifications, e.g., CCIE, VCP, CISSP, etc.

Physical Requirements of Position:

Ability of finger dexterity to be used primarily to make small movements such as typing, picking up small objects or pinching fingers together. Movements frequently and regularly required using the wrists, hands and / or fingers. Speech ability must be at a level where one must convey detailed or important instructions or ideas accurately, loudly or quickly. Hearing ability must be at a level to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information. Visual ability must be average with ordinary visual acuity necessary to prepare or inspect documents or products, or operate machinery. Physical strength for sedentary work with sitting most of the time. May have to exert or lift up to 10 - 20 pounds of force occasionally.
