Job Description

The Sr Software Test Engineer with assure and verify the quality of software code. Design and execute the testing of software applications.

Temporary project based opportunity for up to 1 year

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

* Perform Risk Assessment and document the results.
* Write and execute all required documents for Verification and Validation of software systems.
* Perform Software validation to ensure compliance with FDA (21 CFR Part 11, 820) and ISO standards.
* Perform integration testing with LIMS and laboratory equipment.
* Perform manual blackbox, white box, and some automation testing.
* Verify test results using Microsoft SQL.
* Write reports summarizing test results, defect results and present findings during User Acceptance Testing to end user clients.
* Assist software developers and domain experts in designing, performing, and improving verification tests.
* Work with scientists, technicians, engineers, and project management to develop new SW or sustain validated SW.
* Formalize, standardize and document QA processes, procedures and guidelines.
* Interact with cross-disciplinary project teams in order to meet project milestones and end goals.
* Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Position generally requires a Bachelor Degree in business, computer science or equivalent experience plus 5+ years of experience testing software applications. Familiar with software development life-cycle Experience developing test plans, test case and other test documents. Experience with Software validation Process and activities to ensure compliance with FDA and ISO standards. Experience with analyzing data from SQL databases and writing SQL queries. Understands relational databases. Experience working with use-case driven requirements. Familiar with UML. Familiar with test automation. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio). Familiarity with HL7, XML is a plus.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to analyze, and interpret common technical documents, financial reports. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from IS and internal business customers. Ability to write technical Testing documents.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establishes facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
