Your Impact:

The Senior Software Engineer will participate as a key member on a small, agile product development team. This person will help develop web applications and micro-services with rich user interfaces that connect to back-end web services using the latest Internet technologies. This person will also be critical in defining a robust and scalable architecture that meets the needs of Foundation Medicine's technology strategy.

Primary Responsibilities and Essential Duties:

* Work closely with a cross-functional team to create web applications.
* Help develop and support web-based applications.
* Help define and participate in software development processes that support continuous product delivery.
* Participate in design and code reviews.
* Participate in scrum ceremonies.

Desired Skills and Experience:

* Expert knowledge of JavaScript.
* Experience working a Biotechnology strongly desired.
* Full-stack application developer.
* Lives and breathes TDD/BDD.
* Experience creating and maintaining a CI/CD pipeline.
* Expert knowledge of OO and functional programming languages and best practices.
* Demonstrable conceptual, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
* Experience with common JavaScript libraries and data visualization.
* Experience with Node.js and ReactJS (R or similar experience a plus).
* Experience with MongoDB and RDBMS.
* Experience developing RESTful APIs.
* Comfortable developing bash (or other shell) scripts.
* Comfortable with Git.
* Comfortable with Docker.
* Experience setting up a multi-tier web application from scratch.
* Must possess exceptional communication and documentation skills, with a strong knowledge of the software development process.

Education or Experience:

* BS or related experience with a minimum of 5 years of application development on large-scale web applications.
