Evolent Health is looking for a Sr. Software Engineer, Database Development to be a key member of the technology leadership team. This individual will play a critical role in executing Evolent Health's mission by architecting and developing technical processes around data management to ensure success in terms of both revenue and timely release of current and next generation products and capabilities.

What You'll Be Doing:

* Lead the development of data retrieval and data management for application development teams. Responsible for ensuring that the data assets of an organization are aligned with the organization goals. The architecture should cover databases, data integration and the means to get to the data.
* Create logical and physical data models based on application requirements
* Program in MS SQL server T-SQL and other related languages to support application development
* Hands-on in designing and development of database solutions for core components, foundational frameworks and SOA based services
* Actively contribute to SDLC process of requirements gathering, design, development and quality testing, with a focus on relational, NoSQL and document database technologies
* Lead aspects of our services-based solutions and internal applications to ensure consistency, quality, architectural integrity, scalability, and availability
* Help explore and implement new technologies using Azure PaaS services.
* Collaborate with team and business owners in the software development and/or execution, considering the objectives of the organization.
* Participate in the full systems life cycle with solution design, development, implementation, and product support using scrum and other agile methodologies.
* Maintain source-code repository and participate in deployment of code into production.
* Develop software using known best practices and help improve our CI/CD model
* Researches competitive online marketing presence/campaigns and maintains a pulse on industry trends and systems; bringing forth ideas that embrace emerging technology/executions and innovative ideas.
* Performs other duties as assigned.

The Experience You Need (Required):

* Bachelor's Degree
* 5 or more years of experience in information technology with a minimum of 4 years of experience as a SQL Developer or SQL DBA
* Expert in T-SQL coding (stored procedures, functions, and queries)
* Extensive experience with database performance tuning and indexing strategies
* Strong experience in data architecture, data modelling and design of relational databases supporting OLTP applications
* Experience with various MS SQL Server features such as SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, XML, Service Broker, Full-Text, etc. and how they are used;
* Strong understanding of MS SQL Server features, including but not limited to: Physical storage, partitioning, and Query Optimizer
* Good understanding of data warehouse, data mart and data lake concepts
* Some experience working in a cloud environment such as Azure or AWS

Finishing Touches (Preferred):

* Experience with PostgreSQL
* Familiarity with practical application of NoSQL/Document databases like Cosmos Db, Mongo Db or others
* Health care market experience in some combination of Provider, Payer or specialty care organizations
* Experience with healthcare data integration, reporting and analytics functions are highly preferable
* Proven track record in establishing strong relationships with clients and vendors
* Intense intellectual curiosity and an ability to view old problems with a fresh perspective
* Excellent written computer and oral communication skills
