Job Description

Tygart is currently seeking a Sr. Software Developer to support a Department of Justice (DoJ) organization with operational, digital collection systems. The successful candidate will be a seasoned programmer in C# and possess a high degree of competence in analyzing functional business applications and design specifications for functional activities. This position requires that the candidate have a current Top Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities include:

* Translates detailed design into computer software.
* Tests, debugs, and refines the computer software to generate the required software enhancements and system components.
* Enhances software and database queries to reduce operating time or improve efficiency.
* Converts legacy media into digitized formats to enable upload onto digital telephony collection systems.
* Prepares both program-level and user-level documentation.
* May provide technical direction to programmers to ensure program deadlines are met.



Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have the following:

* Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
* Eight (8) years or more of technical experience as an applications programmer on computer and database management systems
* Five (5) or more years of experience with high level programming languages (C# preferred) developing for Windows based OS systems (Windows 7 and higher is preferred)
* Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio (2008 version or higher), and ASCII
* Demonstrated experience with media file types including WAV and VOC; file systems including FAT32, NTFS, and UFS; and, NoSQL and Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS) (MySQL preferred) is required
* Possess an in-depth working knowledge and use of Microsoft Access and Excel, and formatting and processing large data files, using various types of scripts.
* Must be able to well under pressure, and possess excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as excellent organizational skills.
