In this exciting role you will provide software configuration management services to support the development of safety critical software for medical devices which over 400,000 people depend on each day. Participate in all aspects of Software Configuration Management, including creating, executing and training on repeatable processes, supporting test efforts, manage software tools, and contribute to continuous improvement. Directly contribute to Medtronic's mission to Alleviate Pain, Restore Health, and Extend Life by being on the leading edge to bring closed-loop control to insulin-dependent diabetics across the world.

A Day in the Life

* Partners with development teams to establish the file structure of the project Source Control libraries
* Ensures all project source materials are maintained in the Source Control library including software source code and project documentation
* Administers the Source Control tool providing maintenance and troubleshooting
* Partners with development teams and System Administrators in the establishment of project environments, including, define and document project environment requirements, project servers set up, and deployment of project & 3rd party software
* Document, schedule, and executes project software builds.
* Document SCM Plans, Release and Build Procedures
* Manages software development tools and licenses
* Prepares, reviews, submits, maintains and provides status on project/product documentation
* Performs and documents software builds using existing build procedures and scripts
* Supports analysis of build data to report and communicate software build results (status, errors. etc.)
* Writes basic scripts (e.g., support build, test, static analysis) and maintain more complex scripts
* Performs validation activities of software development tools
* Gathers required metrics and generates/provides reports as directed
* Integrates verification tools into build process under direction of engineers

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

* Designs, develops, tests, debugs and implements operating systems components, software tools and utilities.
* Determines systems software design requirements.
* Ensures that system improvements are successfully implemented and monitored to increase efficiency.
* Generates systems software engineering policies, standards and procedures.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

IN ORDER TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION, THE FOLLOWING BASIC QUALIFICATIONS MUST BE EVIDENT ON YOUR RESUME

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

* Bachelor in scientific, engineering, computer technology or related technical field

REQUIRED YEARS OF EXPERIENCE:

* 4+ years in software engineering configuration management

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:

* Knowledge of configuration management industry standards and best practices
* Knowledge of scripting language (e.g., Perl, Python，RegEX, shell, batch)
* Experience in software or systems engineering, software project management, or software quality assurance

Nice to Have

* Experience developing and maintaining SCM and build solutions
* Experience in specifying and implementing SCM solution with IT to support distributed software teams
* Basic understanding and capability in branching, merging, and archiving using SCM
* Proficiency in engineering documentation
* Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, VISIO, and Outlook
* Knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
* Understanding of software testing; Verification & Validation
* Proficiency with Window Server and UNIX
* Configuration Management Certification
* Experience in regulated industry e.g., medical, aerospace
* 4+ years' experience in building and deploying software applications
* 4+ years' experience developing build scripts/make files for software builds including complex scripts to support product line models
* 2+ years' experience with one or more of the following tools: Integrity PTC tools, Seapine Surround/TestTrack, IAR development tools
* 2+ years' experience in DOORS requirements management software
* 2+ years' experience with integration of compilers, version control systems, static analysis tools, and automated test frameworks
* Experience performing verification and validation activities
* Expertise in training developers on SCM tools and software engineering processes
* Expertise with code line management, branching and merging
* Expertise with workflow design
* Experience with to test, analyze, and solve technical problems
