Position Summary:

Sony Corporation of America (SCA), is seeking Sr Security Automation Developer, to join the Global Information Security Department (GISD)organization located in Herndon, VA. This position will report to the Senior Manager, Mission Engineering - Automation & Orchestration, and be a core team member of the group responsible for content development, management of various security products and process automation. This role is also responsible for ensuring the effective use of application, integration and operation of key security products utilized within GSIRT.

Responsibilities:

* Responsible for working closely with project stakeholders and team leads to gather, document and help define development requirements
* Collaborate with a cross functional team of software engineers, data engineers, analysts, and others to build new product features
* Plan, and execute programming projects based on a list of requirements into fully functional and attractive web layouts using JS, Reach and SCSS
* Research, prototype and operationalize new front-end technologies to grow our toolset
* Write, debug and edit code for assigned projects
* Design, build and implement internal APIs.
* Develop code to consume 3rd party API's using (REST, OAuth, JSONP) across distinct vendors and formats (JSON, XML, csv)
* Develop API libraries that can be used by other team members to extend integration capabilities
* Develop processes to monitor, identify and mitigate potential performance bottlenecks
* Troubleshoot, resolve and track end-user issues received via ticketing system
* Develop technical project documentation including; flowcharts, diagrams and design documents
* Assist and mentor other team members

Qualifications:

* Minimum of 5 years' experience development experience using JavaScript and JS frameworks (Angular, Backbone, React, Redux)
* Minimum 2 years' experience writing native Python modules
* Minimum 2 years' experience working in Linux environments
* Bachelor's degree in management, computer science, computer engineering, cyber security, information technology or related subject matter or equivalent professional experience
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and quickly shift priorities is critical
* Extensive experience troubleshooting and debugging performance issues
* Experience with APIs - interacting with external APIs via provided SDKs in addition to developing API REST solutions
* Splunk UI application development a plus
* Splunk experience as a user a plus
* High level understanding and experience management of code versioning tools and processes (SVN, Git, etc.)
* Experience with the CI/CD processes
* Experience with data manipulation using Pandas/NumPy (sorting, indexing, sciling, grouping) a plus
* Experience with one or more Cloud service providers a plus (Amazon/Microsoft/IBM)
* Basic understanding of front-end technologies, such as JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3
* Understanding of Full Life Cycle Development (design, test, implement, document)
* Experience with containerization and scheduling (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.) - big plus
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Sound problem resolution, judgment, negotiating and decision-making skills
* Strong work ethic and commitment to accomplish assigned tasks
