Job Description

The Sr. Programmer is responsible for enhancements and support of application portfolios for designated business units. Designs, develops, and implements changes to application software. Works with external vendors to develop and implement customizations to commercial applications. Maintains project pipeline in conjunction with business system owners. Analyzes incidents reported on production systems, performs root cause analysis, and determines an effective solution to resolve them in a timely manner.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

* Enhances applications to support Prometheus business processes
* Design and develop changes to custom-developed software applications
* Integrate software applications within the enterprise
* Understand and implement architectural best practices
* Develop software primarily, but not limited to, using the Microsoft stack of technologies: .NET, .NET Core, SQL Server, , .NET Core Web API (JSON/REST) , EF, EF Core , Angular
* Develop appropriate documentation such as software requirements specifications and design specifications.
* Experience with code versioning tools such as Git.
* Consistently follow company defined software development lifecycle (SDLC) procedures and formal documentation requirements

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Generally requires a Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from four-year college or university or equivalent combination of education and experience. 8+ years of experience developing and/or supporting data-driven software applications. Understanding of the end-to-end software development process. Strong commitment to developing quality software and the ability to quickly learn and adapt new technologies and system requirements/specifications. Proficient in Microsoft technologies such as. NET, .NET Core, SQL Server, .NET Core Web API (JSON/REST) , EF, EF Core , Angular . Create and troubleshooting complex SQL scripts. Experience with code versioning and CI/CD tools like Git and Azure DevOps. Strong understanding of service-oriented architectural and design principles. Driven, self-starter, highly motivated, and can work with minimal guidance and direction. Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop good working relationships. Strong written and oral communication skills. Strong aptitude for data. Exposure to Azure Cloud platform and PAAS/Server less applications is a plus.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Assists in the supervising of employees in the Information Services department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
