The Operational Intelligence Team seeks a strong engineer to develop, document and drive the teams monitoring strategy and its adoption and evolution with a focus on standards and application instrumentation for critical Bank Applications.
This is a unique opportunity to work with Business, Application Development and Support teams, Monitoring Tools teams and to create Monitoring Requirements and build end-end monitoring solutions to support applications.
The ideal candidate for this hands-on position will have excellent technical skills as well as strong communication skills to work with development teams and other engineering and business teams.
Required:
Min 5 years Development or Architecture experience for multi-tiered business applications
Min 2 years production systems engineering and/or support role.
Proven experience with developing strategy and implementing monitoring - functional, synthetic, end-use experience for applications with tools such as - Tivoli, Splunk, Introscope, Sitescope, AppDynamics etc.
Knowledge of OS (Windows/Unix) based infrastructure services, processing, monitoring, shell scripts, etc.
Proven experience in programming languages (Java and/or .NET)
Proven experience in application/network performance and availability monitoring
Knowledge of ITIL functions and processes
An excellent communicator, able to network and influence across multiple levels
A Self-motivated, hands-on, driven individual with strong leadership skills
A strategic thinker who can link business context to technical reality
Able to work in a fast paced environment whilst meeting deadlines
The ideal candidate will have experience working and being successful in a large, multi-data center enterprise environment. Business acumen a plus. Communication and flexibility are important skills for this role, as special projects may be assigned over time.
Desired:
The candidate(s) must possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills; and be able to demonstrate those skills to a varying level of internal & external resources, to include senior leadership. The candidate should be self-motivated and be able to detect a major concern that should be escalated to management for resolution. Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical personnel.
