Amazon's Last Mile delivery efforts help get customer packages from delivery stations to a customer's doorstep. Amazon has grown its last mile delivery efforts helping to speed up customer delivery times and provide new innovations to customers. Working on the front lines of our Last Mile tech team means that daily, you have a tangible impact on an Amazon customer's experience getting his or her package.

This position is in the Amazon Flex mobile app team, where we build technology so anyone can deliver to the right place, at the right time, on the first attempt. Our native driver app (aka Rabbit) is used by thousands of drivers to deliver millions of packages daily. Key challenges include working on architectural investments to enable our app and backend systems to scale for the next 5+ years, simplifying our workflows to personalize the driver experience and increase efficiency, solving for ultrafast and efficient pickups at delivery stations/unmanned/3P locations, ID verification, navigating the last 100 yards to precisely guide drivers to the customer's doorstep, leveraging IoT including beacons, WiFi fingerprinting for delivery confirmation, Alexa integration, deliveries to car/garage/homes/lockers and ML-based tech to improve our delivery success rates. All this while scaling to new countries and supporting new innovative programs!

This role will lead multiple engineering teams within the mobile app team. You will be expected to build and own multiple software engineering teams working on cutting edge technology. You will have an enormous opportunity to impact the customer experience, design, architecture, and implementation of features in a cutting edge mobile application that will be used every day to deliver packages to the customers.

A successful candidate will have an established background of building highly scalable and mission critical software. You are a leader of leaders with progressive technical experience, a demonstrated progression of management scope, and a passion for managing engineering talent in a fast-paced environment. You have kept your tech skills sharp, and possess exceptional project management and communication skills. You will draw from your deep and broad technical expertise to hire and mentor engineers, complete hands-on technical work and provide leadership on complex technical issues. You will manage and be responsible for delivering some of our most strategic technical projects.
