Job Description

The Sr. IT Infrastructure Administrator delivers expert analysis of complex infrastructures, provides comprehensive knowledge, designs optimal solutions, and ensures accurate implementations. This highest level technical role utilizes leadership and administrative skills to manage risk and maintain desired levels of confidentiality, integrity and availability of corporate IT services and research applications.

1 Designs solutions across all areas of technology (Network, Server, Virtualization, Cloud, Storage, etc) to enable CNA IT services. Interprets business, user, security and compliance (RMF, STIG, DFARS, etc) requirements. Conducts research and makes recommendations on products, services, protocols, and standards in order to create an efficient, secure, supportable and compliant IT Infrastructure. Develops implementation plans to support successful and rapid deployment of new solutions. Diagnoses and resolves complex problems that span technology areas. Identifies and documents optimal, compatible configurations. Provides technical leadership and oversees accurate implementation by other administrators.

2 Optimizes internal and external connectivity by establishing networking configuration standards. Leverages secure protocols to support physical and cloud based Data Centers. Evaluates and implements physical and virtual network devices (Firewalls, IDS, Cloud Access Security Brokers) and other technologies to enable secure and reliable connectivity to Software, Platform and Infrastructure Services. Enables alerting and monitors connectivity for issues. Provides computer and network device authentication services. Establishes standards for protecting and enabling secure administrative access across the IT infrastructures.

3 Optimizes hypervisor and Operating System configurations to provide storage and compute resources to deliver IT services. Evaluates, configures, tests and maintains corporate identity services including directory services, multi-factor authentication, ADFS. Organizes and develops management standards, and provides role based access control to permit least privilege access. Manages virtual and physical servers. Provides corporate email services including secure delivery and client access. Maintains Certificate Authorities and provides encryption standards in support of file, disk and email. Manages backup, replication and disaster recovery solutions. Enables Server infrastructure resource monitoring and IT service alerting. Identify relevant log entries and enable audits.

4 Ensures compatibility, reliability and security of desktop and server based applications within complex network environments. Identifies optimal configurations to meet user requirements and provide application performance in support of Data Science requirements. Provides excellent customer service. Maintains and ensures proper licenses

5 Works with management, other team members, and end-users to determine goals and directions; coordinates with Security and Technology Center staff; leads highly-complex projects; prepares cost estimates and staff requirements for proposed projects to accomplish goals; monitors and reports on tasks throughout the project; guides and reviews other project work when necessary; supervises other team members as required. Maintains accurate project status and provides visibility to organization.

6 Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

1 Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or additional years of equivalent experience required. Advanced degree preferred.

2 Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in administering Infrastructure solutions and related technology. Minimum of 3 years designing IT solutions.

3 Skills: Expertise in design, implementation, analysis and troubleshooting of the following technologies: network protocols, TCP, UDP,BGP, virtualization, security solutions, cloud based infrastructure, identity, multi-factor authentication, ADFS, PKI, encryption, storage, PowerShell and other scripting languages. Ability to work collaboratively with other team members, provide training, and to lead and manage a technical team on complex projects producing quality work; strong interpersonal skills for interfacing with department members, internal customers, and vendor representatives; attention to detail and strong organization; excellent communication skills and ability to write clear, concise, and accurate documentation. Also must have demonstrated initiative; Solid customer service skills

4 Other: Ability to lift 30 lbs. (e.g. computer, server and AV equipment), ability to walk (to end user stations) and bend (to install and connect equipment); must be willing and able to perform on-call work when required to address security and functionality issues; Active DoD Secret Security Clearance required. Ability to obtain and maintain approved DoD 8570 IAT level II or higher security certification within 90 days of hiring required (Active Security+ CE or Cisco CCNA Security preferred.)
