In this internship, you will be responsible for:
a) Designing and developing applications for the WebMD.com website including existing applications like WebMD Symptom checker, Chat Bots
b) Developing new Runtime Platforms using .Net and NodeJS to handle the traffic of the millions of users WebMD.com receives every day
c) Creating platforms using Search back ends like Apache SOLR and Elastic Search which allows others to create new applications on top of them
d) Designing and Developing DevSecOps processes using Kubernetes, Docker, Jenkins and other CI/CD tools
The successful candidate will demonstrate ability to understand all design & development concepts, and be able to contribute to the evolution of the product from concept to production through following high level tasks: understanding/analysis of requirements to drive further clarification; define and document sound design options & alternatives; develop application code and unit tests under direction from Tech leads; integrate with other WebMD applications as necessary; deliver integrated application components to Testing and Quality Assurance team and support launch to Production environment.
Required:
* Minimum 3.2 GPA
* Enrolled in Undergrad and returning for the Fall 2019 semester.
Must be able to commit to a minimum of 20 hours/week
Expert in JavaScript
Knowledge/Experience Working with NodeJS
Knowledge/Experience working with the LAMP Stack
Familiarity with Source Control Mechanisms and Build Systems like Jenkins, grunt
Knowledge of Working with SOLR a plus but not required
Knowledge/Experience Developing REST APIs
Knowledge/Experience working with JSON/XML
Sounds OOPS concepts
Knowledge/Experience working with MongoDB or other no SQL database
