What's the role?

HD Live Map is a critical component to enable automated driving. The Perception team is tasked to create, maintain HD Live Map automatically and accurately and engage in close collaboration with our customers and partners in automated driving. We have a growing world-class team of engineers who are experts in computer vision, machine learning and 3D point cloud analysis. This role is to take on challenging problems and lead a team or be the technical lead to develop novel solutions that are scalable.

Who are you?

. PhD in computer science, mathematics or related discipline with focus on computer vision or machine learning, or equivalent experience · More than 5 years of experience conducting CV research and software development · More than 2 years of experience being a technical lead or managing a team of research engineers and developers· Experience hiring, growing and retaining engineers. · Demonstrated ability interacting with product and engineering teams to frame business problems into scalable computer vision solutions. · Excellent written and spoken communication skills.

* Experience in influencing and collaborating effectively across all levels of the organization.

Preferred Qualifications

* 10+ years of experience conducting research in computer vision and machine learning · 5+ years of experience leading research projects that include highly talented science teams responsible for developing and owning complex algorithms that go beyond the state of the art.
* Scientific thinking and the ability to invent, a track record of thought leadership and contributions that have advanced the field · 5+ years of experience managing R&D teams or being a technical lead.
* Publication record of papers at relevant top conferences in computer vision and machine learning · Experience in the design, development, evaluation, deployment and updating of multiple customer facing computer vision and deep learning solutions. · Experience in creating the right culture and environment to ensure a diverse group of people and skillsets can flourish and deliver true breakthrough science and innovation
* Automotive or mapping experience
