Overview

The Platform Engineering group at TCW works closely with our investment professionals in developing the investment, risk, and analytics platform that encompasses the investment lifecycle. As such, the team continuously researches and adopts new technologies across the entire development stack to provide competitive advantages in a results-oriented, innovative, agile, and very collaborative environment.

We are looking for a strong architect/developer to help design, build, and improve the firm's Investment Services platform. As a member of the investment services development team, the incumbent will have the opportunity to work across multiple investment services systems and provide industry best practice recommendations to the team. Ideal candidate should have diverse experience across the technology stack. The candidate must be a quick learner, a consummate team player, and detail-oriented. Ability to work independently with strong critical thinking skills to solve technically challenging problems are also required in this position.

Essential Responsibilities

Continuous value delivery to our internal clients, ultimately ensuring our commitment to our external clients by:

* Plan, design, develop and test business critical software solutions in concert with other developers within the department.
* Research, prove out and recommend technology, patterns and practices in aid of maturing our investment services platform.
* Perform operational and sustainment activities in support of key system entities that have cross-system dependencies including overnight support.
* Serve as mentor and provide oversight for a small team of developers.

Minimum Qualifications

* 7+ years of C#, VB.NET, or equivalent object oriented language
* 5+ years of experience in architecting and developing middle-tier and thick client technology
* 5+ Experience with Data modeling and SQL
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent

Desired Qualifications

We would love it if you had:

* Experience with trading systems and API integration (FIX Engine, Compliance Engine integration experience.)
* Experience in an Agile Development Environment
* Experience working with distributed teams
* Experience with Real-Time Market Data
