Sr. Architect - Web Technologies

As an architect at Capital One, you will be working with software engineering teams guiding architecture of products for the credit card division, owning and facilitating architecture development, reviewing architecture, providing feedback on application designs, providing input on company-wide initiatives, supporting platform production teams with architectural questions, tracking information about our existing systems, embedding in engineering teams to jump start complex projects, and helping raise the talent bar by recruiting and mentoring top engineering talent. You will work with product owners to understand intent and incorporate it into system designs, articulate the benefits of proposed solutions, influence the technical roadmap for enterprise platforms; and help the business prioritize work. You will be a trusted advisor to tech and product management executives. If this sounds exciting, the Architect role could be for you! Basic Qualifications:

* Bachelor's Degree or military experience


* At least 6 years of enterprise architecture, solution architecture or software architecture experience


* At least 2 years of experience implementing applications and platform services on public cloud with Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform or Azure (AWS, GCP or Azure).


* At least 2 years of experience with microservices architecture, cloud native architecture or 12 factor application architecture.


* At least 2 years of experience with architecting browser based solutions based MV* frameworks (Angular, React or Vue).


* At least 2 years of experience with web content management systems (CMS).



Preferred Qualifications:

* Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Engineering


* Master's Degree in Computer Science or in an Engineering discipline


* Mastery of Javascript, CSS3, and HTML5


* Experience with mobile native application development and design


* Strong understanding of single page application (SPA) best practices, responsive design, UI performance optimization techniques, web standards and cross-browser compatibility


* Experience with architecting progressive web apps (PWA)


* Full stack development experience integrating with and contributing to JSON/REST-based Java microservices


* Strong communication skills, able to communicate complex solutions to disparate audiences with varying levels of technical expertise


* Passionate about technology and influencing teams.


* Experience in containerizing applications to deploy and run in containers, container-as-a-service, Platform as a Service (PaaS), immutable infrastructure, and enabling blue-green or canary deployments


* Experience in building Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines with Jenkins, Artifactory, Chef, Terraform, Ansible, Amazon Web Services Cloud Formation templates, GitHub or Sonar


* Understanding of reactive, real-time streaming and event-driven architectures such as Event Sourcing & CQRS and use of platforms like Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ, Akka/Lagom


* Experience in agile development practices & methodologies such as Scrum or Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)


* AWS Certified Solution Architect


* TOGAF Certification


* Previous experience in the Banking industry
