Job Overview

Possess knowledge of the functions and applications of information systems. Responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining and supporting clinical, ancillary, financial and/or administrative systems to efficiently and effectively assist with the goals of fulfilling business objectives. Actively participates in development work groups, performing project management functions and mentoring team members. Expected to complete complex tasks and large or multiple projects with minimal direction.

Responsibilities

Analyze, design/build and modify clinical, ambulatory, financial, and/or administrative systems which may include an integrated focus on multi-functional disciplinary systems. Lead workflow, process analysis and design specifications including documentation and solutions recommendations. Lead and implement system build, QA testing and validation procedures prior to software implementation. Work with users to determine data requirements to develop basic and complex reports, dashboards and extracts for internal/external use using such tools as Adhoc, SQL, ETL and Web Publishing. Perform day-to-day project management of the software implementation, maintenance and support process with minimal direction. Provide support to users during scheduled and unscheduled downtime periods as well as after hours on call support. Meets all required competencies for department, unit and/or hospital. Responsible for performing all other duties as assigned. Special Projects Act as coach to clients when providing support and participate in training sessions as required. Create and update system, operational and department documentation as is appropriate, to include process design & modifications, upgrades, decisions made, direction, actions and resolutions. Provide input into policy and procedure redesign. Assist users with the management of clinical, ambulatory, ancillary, financial, and administrative data. Prepare and provide communications to project teams, clients and departments regarding planning, system updates, issues status and escalations. Provide direction and oversight for system support, testing, trouble shooting, issues resolution, software maintenance & feature enhancements. Provide technical expertise, support, guidance and mentoring to promote team development.

Qualifications

Work requires the knowledge of theories, principles, and concepts acquired through the completion of a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field AND five to sevenyears professional experience in the areas of healthcare information technology, application implementation and support, and/or project management. Licensure or certificationin clinical area/ clinical application or Healthcare experience is highly desirable.Exceptional organizational and time management skillsrequired in order to manage multiple concurrent projects of varying size and complexity,ensuringthey are accomplished within the required timeline and meet project expectations. Proficient PC and Microsoft Office skillsrequired along with effective oral and written communication skills.
