Job Description

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION:

Perform activities relating to designing, building, testing, implementing and maintaining solutions, products and processes under the guidance of a Lead Analyst or Manager for the IT NERC CIP Compliance function. IT NERC CIP Compliance oversees the NERC CIP Compliance Program, functioning as an independent and objective body that reviews and evaluates compliance issues/concerns throughout the company.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:

* Perform, document and assist in planning work activities relating to projects, sub-projects, or processes. For Projects: analyze requirements, then design, build, and test IT software solutions in accordance with IT project management standards. For operations/applications maintenance: enhance, maintain or support existing IT products and processes to the defined service level agreement
* Maintain engagement with business and IT partners.
* Assist less experienced personnel.
* Proactively build business/IT knowledge to provide solutions.
* Utilize best practices to improve products and services. Apply and verify compliance to standards as defined within the Management Model.

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS

Minimum:

* Bachelor's degree and typically 2 to 4 years related experience in IT application support or equivalent combination of education and work experience
* Knowledge of business practices and processes in security principles such as access controls, authentication methods, Active Directory design and security, confidentiality, integrity and availability
* Hands-on knowledge of mainstream computers and networks (e.g. Microsoft Windows 2003/2010, Windows XP/Vista/7 *NIX)
* Knowledge of Oracle and SQL Server
* Knowledge of relational database design
* Experience with .NET coding
* Knowledge of Object Oriented programming
* Strong problem solving skills
* Detail and goal oriented
* Ability to perform standardized task with limited supervision
* Excellent communications skills (written and verbal)
* Ability to work with remote project teams

Preferred:

* Knowledge of NERC CIP Reliability Standards and Requirements
* Experience leading small IT projects or sub-teams and providing time sensitive deliverables
* Familiarity with change management, patch and vulnerability management
