What You Will Do:

The Senior Database Administrator is responsible for maintenance of a SQL Server data environment and developing strategies for future migrations to new database structures and preparations for applying big data analytics to existing data. This position will be one of two senior data positions on an Agile based application development team.

Job Duties:

* Maintain data in a SQL Server cloud environment
* Develop strategies for big data preparation of current data environment
* Work closely with application development team on O&M and new development tasking
* Work closely with client product owners to achieve program goals
* Bring best practices and recommendations for improved processes to data and development teams
* Work in an Amazon Web Service Cloud environment in support of a DevOps deployment process

Desired Skills:

* SQL Server experience with strong skills in writing queries and database design required.
* Effective communications for daily interaction with product owners required.
* Ability to balance daily maintenance and development with long term planning required.
* Ability to bring new ideas and process recommendations to development team required.
* Ability to work well as an integrated part of a team required. Some tasks will require leadership while others will require support roles.
* New Tech and Strategy experience (Postgres/Hadoop/MondoDB/Big Data focus) desired.
* Strong query optimization skills and SSIS desired.

Years of Experience: 8-10

Minimum Education Required: Bachelor's Degree
