Job Description

Altair Engineering is looking for a motivated, enthusiastic and intelligent Software Test Engineer to work out of the Oakland, Ca satellite office. This is an exciting opportunity to make a difference in a visible, close-knit team working on a worldwide product. As a member of the QA team you will be involved in all project planning and testing aspects as well as writing and maintaining test automation and test tools for an edge to cloud IoT solution.

This job is heavy in testing and programming across multiple languages including Javascript (including Node.JS, React, and React-Native), Python, and shell scripting.

Skills and Experience required:

* Demonstrable programming skills with modern Javascript; Nodejs etc. or another object oriented programming language
* Knowledge of Linux command line
* Experience with bash scripting
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
* Excellent written communication, oral communication, and people skills
* Understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle and Agile methodologies

Nice to haves:

* Angular or React development
* Unit testing experience
* Docker or other container-based technologies a big plus
* Experience in Python or PHP
* MySQL or Postgres
* Exposure to Test Driven Development
