Position Summary

Role and Responsibilities

Lead Research & Development to implement new standards and specification related changes and/or carrier specific requirements for electronic devices. Propose new ideas and enhancements to SEA field operations and communicate with headquarters for various related features and issues. Conduct intermediate technical analysis of customer requirements and create, evaluate, and develop implementation concepts / approaches to meet customer requirements. Identify the required documentation and process for projects and lead in creation of design requirements. Assist and lead in analyzing test data and reports to determine if design meets functional and performance specifications. Collaborate with other engineering staff to evaluate interface between hardware and software products. Translation of complex functional and technical requirements into detailed architecture and design. Responsible for the over-all systems architecture, scalability, reliability, and performance. Diagnose Protocol and System level issues from the carriers, screen through and debug issues reported from carrier, and oversee IOT and field test by doing in-depth log analysis.

Skills and Qualifications

Master's degree in Computer science, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, a related field, or a foreign equivalent, plus two (2) years of experience in technical or telecommunications engineering for mobile phones and tablets. Experience must include 3GPP, GSMA -IR.92, IR.94 standards, IMS, SIP, SDP, RTP, RTCP protocols, and TCP/IP networking; utilizing QXDM, QCAT, QPST, QMICM, NNEXT, SHANNON DM, N-Trace, Mobile Analyzer, Artemis, Debug Mux, Spy Tracer, Odin, XCAL, Mobile Datum, PC Datum, and Wire shark tools; Java or C#; using Python to write test automation code using Eclipse, Android Studio, and Visual Studio; utilizing field test engineering to test and evaluate new wireless products including the verification of product performance of satellite, indoor, and sensor-based positioning in GSM, UMTS, and LTE networks; and mentoring fellow engineers. 25% domestic and international travel required.

In lieu of a Master's degree and two (2) years of experience, the employer will accept a Bachelor's degree plus five (5) years of progressively responsible post-baccalaureate experience as set forth above.
