Description:Lockheed Martin is seeking a Software Quality Engineer for an Associate Manager position in Grand Prairie, TX for the leadership and performance of several key areas of responsibility within the Systems and Software Quality Engineering discipline in alignment with AS9100 Quality Management System, Capability Maturity Model-Integrated (CMMI), Program Requirements, and Customer Requirements. The candidate should be a Subject Matter Expert in the area of Systems / Software Quality Engineering, have excellent communication skills, and possess a proven ability to effectively interact and communicate with management of all levels and with Customers. This role requires interface with systems and software development personnel, test and evaluation personnel, project managers, and DCMA. Candidate should have extensive experience in solving complex problems associated with the quality of software products and in Systems, Software and Test Equipment processes. Moderate travel may be required to support program activities.
Areas of responsibility include the following:
Manages the development, modification, application, and maintenance of standards for software quality operating methods, processes, systems and procedures
Responsible for employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition / disciplinary actions
Manages the performance of or directs verification of software requirement allocations, traceability, and testability and monitors software inspection, testing, verification and validation
Oversees implementation of software development and maintenance processes and methods
Ensures implementation of the software quality program according to project, process and contract requirements and objectives
Ensures that project and process control documentation are compliant with requirements, objectives and / or contract
Oversees the review of software design, change specifications, and plans against contractual and/or process requirements
Monitors reviews that may include applicable specifications, materials, tools, techniques, and methodologies
Develops and implements processes to optimize practices in driving out risks and support continuous improvement initiatives
Contingency: This position is contingent upon a future contract award (expected in Q2 of 2019) supporting a Tactical & Strike Missiles Program within Missiles & Fire Control, as well as Customer funding for this position.
Basic Qualifications:
Technical degree, preferably in one of the following disciplines: Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering
Ability to obtain a security clearance
Ability to travel
Software Quality and / or Engineering experience in SDLC phases and related activities to include Requirements Analysis, Design/Development, Product Integration, System Level Verification & Validation and Test Equipment/Test Station Development
Experienced with creating Basis of Estimate (BOE) for business proposals, Earned Value Management (EVM) and Systems / Software staffing and long-range planning goals and objectives
Experienced in performing Lean Six Sigma / Root Cause Corrective Action analysis and identifying solutions to complex problems with a focus on continual improvement practices
Strong knowledge of Industry recognized Quality systems/models such as International (ISO), aerospace (AS) and the Capability Maturity Model Integrated (CMMI)
Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and interact with multiple functions and stakeholders (e.g., Production Operations, Global Supply Chain, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Test Engineering, Software Suppliers and Customers) to work strategic/tactical plans, negotiate optimized approaches, and/or implement new solutions
Ability to lead teams, mentor employees and influence changes within the organization
Demonstrated basic understanding of audit techniques
Ability to interpret Schematic Drawings, Specifications, Contracts that will enable development and review of Systems & Software Quality Engineering (QE) Processes, and related Performance Metrics
Ability to interpret software design and code (C/C++) to verify implementation of requirements with good understanding of software dependencies, process flow and development methodologies
Proficient skill level with Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
Desired Skills:
ASQ Certified Software Quality Engineer (CSQE)
Lean / Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Certification
Experience with Government customers including DCMA
Experience in "C" using National Instruments LabWindows™/CVI, LabVIEW and/or TestStand development environments
Experience supporting major Program Reviews
Experience collaborating with cross-functions, cross-sites and cross-business areas
