Description

SAIC is looking for a Software Quality Engineer to join our team in Fort Belvoir, VA. The ideal candidate will provide dedicated advisory and assistance services (A&AS) support to the Defense Threat Reduction Agency, Nuclear Enterprise Support Directorate, Nuclear Stockpile Operations Division. The Engineer will act as the subject matter expert leading quality assurance efforts for the DTRA Stockpile Management Systems (DSMS) program and ensure compliance with Capability Maturity Model Integrated (CMMI) processes.

Primary duties include:

* Plan, develop, train, and monitor DSMS software development activities to operate within the guidelines of Capability Maturity Model Integrated (CMMI) processes


* Provide program management and technical support for planning, developing and refining life-cycle system designs and documentation


* Lead Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) management for developed systems


* Perform stockpile management program Risk Assessment analyses and produce a monthly Risk Assessment Report


* Conduct Engineering audits and subsequent report of findings identifying areas of improvement


* Author the Test Plan and develop specific test cases for conducting the periodic Government Acceptance Test (GAT) of contractor developed software, and assist in the development of the GAT Analysis Report documenting the test results


* Support ad hoc tasks within contract scope from the Department as required


* This position requires an active Top Secret Clearance

Qualifications

* Minimum 5 years relevant experience with quality assurance activities on DoD programs
* B.S. degree in either Industrial, Software/Systems Engineering or Computer Science required, M.S. degree highly desired.


* Certificate of training in CMMI processes highly desired or equivalent industry experience may substitute


* Ability to effectively communicate via written and oral means in understandable terms at all levels


* Ability to write assessment reports and presentations that can be understood at multiple levels, including briefing Department and senior leaders


* Ability to conduct training on CMMI processes


* Ability to handle multiple tasks with little to no supervision


* Strong attention to detail


* Proven analytical, problem solving, and program management skills and expertise, including use of appropriate analysis tools


* Ability to collaborate across a diverse workforce to achieve the objectives


* Current DoD Top Secret clearance



Desired Qualifications

* Advanced degree preferred
* 10 or more years relevant experience preferred


* Prior experience with DTRA programs and specifically within Nuclear Enterprise
