Leica Geosystems, High Definition Surveying Division, is looking for a Software Quality Assurance Engineer in our San Ramon, CA location. The candidate will work closely with an Agile cross-disciplinary development team and will need to provide both manual testing and extension to the automated testing framework. The focus for this position is developing and maintaining the automated framework for multiple 3D products. The products to be tested are complex 3D graphical systems, so a background in 3D and or CAD is necessary. In accordance with Agile principles, the manual testing proceeds as features are developed, and when features are approved the automated versions of the tests are created. An adequate test plan is created in cooperation with the rest of the team. The candidate must be comfortable working dynamically in a team, since what needs to happen at any given time is determined by the group as a whole. In addition, the candidate will need to perform lower level API testing of the underlying development framework.

JOB DESCRIPTION

* Create and execute manual test plans and test cases for assigned components/features
* Continuously convert manual test cases into automated ones
* Perform functional, regression, smoke, integration, and performance testing
* Troubleshoot, diagnose, debug, and perform root cause analysis of issues and defects
* Create and improve automated regression tests
* Report, track, and verify bugs
* Contribute to QA team process improvement
* Work within the Agile scrum team

QUALIFICATIONS

* (Required) 4+ years of software testing experience and/or GUI test automation experience
* (Required) 4+ years of in depth experience with commercial automation tools like TestComplete, SilkTest, etc. and integration with desktop applications
* (Required) 2+ years of Windows standalone application testing that involves CAD or other 3D applications
* (Required) Strong understanding of Microsoft Windows Operating Systems
* (Required) Experience with at least one scripting/programming language
* (Required) Hands-on experience in configuring, installing, and troubleshooting software and hardware
* (Required) Possess strong problem solving and analytical skills
* (Required) High level of attention to detail
* (Required) Experience working in an Agile environment
* (Preferred) Background in graphical system, 3D geometry, Point Cloud software testing
* (Preferred) Experience with Sysinternals Suite, WinDbg
