The Engineering team delivers next-generation infrastructure and new products for a changing world. Working at the cutting edge, we design and develop software for platforms, peripherals, applications and diagnostics - all with the most advanced technologies, tools, software engineering methodologies and the collaboration of internal and external partners.

As a Software Engineering Manager at Dell, you will lead a Firmware Engineering Team to develop firmware that controls the functioning of high performance, enterprise grade, purpose built SSDs. You will be collaborating with cross-functional teams like media characterization, hardware engineering, firmware test engineering, FA, QA and manufacturing to release product in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities

* Manage a Firmware Engineering Team responsible for the design, development, and delivery of SSD Technology
* Provide technical leadership to the team during project execution
* Grow the team by recruiting and retaining talent
* Continuously improve team efficiency through technical growth, process, and tools
* Effectively collaborate with global teams, cross-functional teams and external partners

Essential Requirements

* Solid working experience in Firmware or Embedded Software development (7+ years) and lead engineering roles (2+ years)
* Experience in leadership role, project/people management
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Strong coordination, problem solving and conflict resolution skills
* Proven knowledge of C language, embedded systems, industry standards, debug tools
* Direct experience in SSD industry/technology, SSD firmware (Frontend/FTL/Backend) is required
* Demonstrated results with delivering SSD technologies to market
* Self-directed and comfortable in a rapidly changing environment
* BS, MS in CS, CE, EE or relevant field
