What you will do

The Software Engineer in Test will provide test and support for planned roadmap development such as Access Control Server/Client and associated hardware projects, as well as field support. They will support the full product family offered by Software House with includes the CCURE 9000 and iSTAR products. The software products are Windows based, hardware/firmware are a mix of Linux and Windows.

How you will do it

The Software Engineer in Test engineer will be part of an established QA test team responsible for various Software, Hardware and Firmware projects. This engineer will develop test plans and execute to those plans. Will use various Black Box /White Box test techniques to identify defects and assist in finding root cause. Validate product quality prior to release.

Create and execute test plans based on product functional specification and design requirements. Configure test environments and create data sets appropriate to qualify products. Enter and help identify root cause of defects, working with development engineers

Provide assistance to the support and development teams. Communicate status (both verbal and written) to cross functional teams and management. Automate test cases using UFT Ensure all automated test failures are communicated and documented. Identify, document and track product defects. Define and set up of automated test station(s) for specified products.

Required Skills/Experience

⦁ Bachelor's Degree with 3-5 years of related experience authoring of automation suites and infrastructures.

⦁ Excellent communication skills.

⦁ Ability to adapt to a variety of environments and work cultures

⦁ Good understanding of the software development life cycle.

⦁ Ability to write, author and implement automated test suites from technical requirements and manual test cases.

⦁ Ability to write in one or more of the following coding standards - UFT, VB Script, JAVA Script, Python C++.

⦁ Ability to create technically clear test plans (Manual and Automated).

⦁ Understanding of Negative and Regression Testing.

⦁ BlackBox and Whitebox test techniques for testing of sophisticated software based systems

⦁ Understanding of Windows and Linux

Preferred Skills/Experience

⦁ Windows and or Linux Operating System knowledge including performance monitoring and network topologies

⦁ Automated testing - QTP/UFT, C++, CodedUI.

⦁ Experience with Access Control systems

⦁ SQL and database operation knowledge, including formulation of SQL queries

⦁ General Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) knowledge

⦁ Basic electronics knowledge, ability to understand and build simple electrical circuits a plus

⦁ Experience in performing scalability and performance testing
