Job Description

ASRC Federal Technical Services (ASTS) is responsible for managing the NASA Goddard Software Engineering Services II (SES II) contract. This includes the following software engineering capabilities: Systems Engineering, Ground Software, Flight Software, Flight System V&V, IT Development, Science System Development and Data Processing.

We are seeking a Software Engineer.

Job Responsibilities:

* Coordinate and assist Software Team Leads in the use of the templates and standards. Incorporate lessons learned from prior missions and approved changes.
* Identify, develop, and deploy improved software engineering processes, along with supporting artifacts (policies, processes, procedures, standards, guidelines, templates, tools, etc.).
* Support efforts to maintain CMMI (Capability Maturity Model Integration) certifications.
* Support continued improvement and operation of the Fight Software Standards Configuration Control Board (CCB)
* Develop and improve products (Documents, Presentations, Web products, etc.) to support the Division.
* Support software engineering studies/activities

AFHCM

Requirements

* BA/BS in Computer Science or Software Engineering or similar degree with significant computer science coursework.
* At least 3 years of experience with software engineering.
* Familiarity with NASA software engineering lifecycle.
* Familiarity with CMMI (Capability Maturity Model Integration)
* Experience with using configuration management tools.
* Familiarity with using Windows and Linux operating systems.
* Strong written and verbal communications skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a diverse team.
* Ability to obtain National Agency Check Inquiry (NACI) personal background check.

Additional Desirable Skills:

* Experience with assembler code.
* Experience with real time operating systems VxWorks and RTEMS.
* Knowledgeable in software lifecycle models
* Experience with spacecraft operations
* Demonstrated skills in real-time software development using the C programming language and the VxWorks real-time operating system.
