We are looking for a Software Engineer Lead to join our development team. In our collaborative and friendly work environment, we design solutions to empower our Sales and Dealer groups with the systems and tools they need to sell our vehicles. The Software Engineer Lead will be responsible for developing and maintaining new and existing web applications on both front and back end. You will develop database-driven web interfaces for rapid, real-time information sharing. You will analyze requirements, design solutions, write code, and perform unit tests to confirm software operation. Experience developing responsive apps is needed for this position.

Technical Skills

* Proficiency in developing web applications with ASP.Net MVC and ASP.Net 4.5/Core
* Understanding of Service Oriented Architecture and experience with writing and consuming Restful Services and ASP.NET WebAPI
* Experience with AngularJS or Angular 2+
* Extensive knowledge of Jquery, JavaScript, HTML5, Bootstrap, CSS
* Ideal candidate will have an eye toward Creative Web Design including UI / UX
* Experience with Dependency Injection
* Data Access ORM (Entity Framework)
* Strong database skills including SQL queries, stored procedures, data modeling, query optimization, and indexing
* Understanding of Architectural Design Patterns and SOLID Principles
* Experience with code versioning and code management systems like TFS
* Experience with a testing framework such as MS Test/Visual Studio or NUnit is a plus
* Experience with third party UI tools like Telerik or Dev Express is a plus
* Experience with automated build tools and continuous integration is a plus

Position Purpose and Requirements

Analyzes, designs, programs, debugs, and modifies software enhancements and/or new products used in local, networked, cloud-based or Internet-related computer programs. Code may be used in commercial or end-user applications, such as materials management, financial management, HRIS, mobile apps or desktop applications products. Using current programming language and technologies, writes code, completes programming, and performs testing and debugging of applications. Completes documentation and procedures for installation and maintenance. May interact with users to define system requirements and/or necessary modifications.

Basic Requirements:

* Bachelor's degree and at least 5 years of software engineer experience

OR

* Master's degree and at least 3 years of software engineer experience

OR

* At least 7 years of software engineer experience

Additional Requirements

* Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States.
