About the Role:

Forcepoint is seeking an energetic, hardworking and knowledgeable Java Developer to join our Richardson, TX team where we build best-in-class cyber security products. As a member of our growing team you will help design and develop technology solutions that are scalable, relevant, and critical to our company's success. About the Richardson Office:

The Forcepoint Richardson Office is in the Telecom Corridor near Campbell and HWY 75. The building has many accommodations including covered parking, a gym, walking paths and nearby parks. The office enjoys numerous eating establishments within walking distance and has daily food delivery from multiple establishments. With a great view of North Richardson and a convenient central location to DFW, the Richardson office provides an excellent working environment.

Essential Activities Include:

* Working collaboratively with other software engineers, product managers, project managers and quality assurance engineers to deliver scalable, lasting technology solutions using Java and related tools
* Researching, designing, developing, documenting, analyzing, testing, debugging and integrating capabilities into new and existing applications
* Verifying product features are thoroughly implemented, ensuring all requirements are met, using robust technical solutions and only the highest quality coding standards
* Remaining up to date on all current best practices, trends, and industry developments and actively sharing that knowledge with other team members
* Strong desire to learn new skills and tools as needed
* Flexibility to adapt to changing instructions and requirements
* Prepare to bring donuts if you break the nightly build

Required Education and Experience:

* 3+ years of experience in Java server development, preferably in a corporate setting
* Solid working knowledge of Java EE/Spring technologies using REST services and JSON
* Experience with database application development using Hibernate, JPA, PostreSQL, MySQL or MongoDB.
* Solid understanding of object-oriented programming
* Working knowledge of Git for version control.
* Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, related technical discipline or equivalent work experience
* US Citizenship

Preferred Experience:

* Experience with large scale, multithreaded applications
* Experience developing microservices using Spring Boot
* Cloud technologies including containers (Docker, Podman) and container-orchestration (Kubernetes, OpenShift)
* Experience with continuous integration/delivery and configuration management tools (Jenkin, Ansible, Helm, Artifactory)
* Experience building automated testing and TDD
* Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment
* Authentication concepts like ldap, oath, jwt, and cookies
* GIT flow development process
* Rapid prototyping
* Linux system and networking
