Software Engineer (Java)

We're looking for an experienced Java Engineer to join the Capital One Auto Finance Application Platform (DevOps) team within Financial Services Technology ( #FStech )!

We're transforming the DevOps environment and infrastructure automation practices across the organization to drive and deliver cutting-edge CICD. Everything we do from providing utilities and products has an immediate impact on the efficiency and financial success across the enterprise! We're looking for a Java Software Engineer to act as the SME for the DevOps efforts.

The Tech Stack:

Java 1.8+,Spring 4.0+, Angular 5.0+, python 3.7+, Docker, Maven, AWS (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS), Oracle DB, Jenkins

Your Impact:

The ideal candidate is passionate about open-source and Infrastructure Automation! Your greatest impact will be bringing your experience and expertise in Java programming.

Your Role:

* Develop applications and create APIs for new workflows and the enhancement of existing applications to automate internal processes.
* Develop scripts and glue code to integrate multiple software components and applications.
* Design and develop automation workflows, performing unit tests and conducting reviews to make sure your work is rigorously designed, elegantly coded, and effectively tuned for platform performance, and assessing the overall quality of delivered components
* Pilot new open-source tools for automation and self-service features/portal
* Automate the provisioning of environments using frameworks such as AWS, CloudFormation, Terraform, Chef, Ansible, Puppet.

Basic Qualifications:

* Bachelor's Degree
* At least 3 years of experience in Java
* At least 2 years of experience in Spring Modules
* At least 1 year of experience in Docker
* At least 1 year of experience in Maven

Preferred Qualifications:

* 6+ years of experience in Java programming
* 2+ years of experience in Python
* 1+ years of experience in Python ML libraries OR scikit-learn OR TensorFlow
* 1+ years of DevOps experience in an AWS environment
* 1+ years of experience in AWS OR any cloud platform.
