F5 is looking for a software engineer with strong systems knowledge who wants to learn the ins-and-outs of cloud engineering right where the rubber meets the road.

The Solution Engineering team delivers world-class offerings to F5's customers on Public Clouds (e.g. AWS, GPC and Azure) and is growing quickly. This is an opportunity to have an impact on a high-profile rapidly expanding product and deepen your understanding of cloud technologies.

This position is ideally suited for someone near the beginning of their software and systems engineering career who is looking for an organization that provides ample growth opportunities, hard challenges and plenty of support and mentoring. You will be busy understanding, enhancing, developing, and testing F5 cloud solutions. You will work with multiple groups across the organization, and learn about and implement new solutions. You will develop a deep understanding of F5's BIG-IP product offerings through ongoing education and hands on work.

Primary Responsibilities

* Code, test and document solutions for deploying F5 products into cloud providers.
* Troubleshoot and debug challenging technical problems.
* Develop your F5 product knowledge to amplify your impact on our solutions.
* Research, investigate and define new areas of technology to enhance our product line.
* Collaborate with team members, technical leads and internal/external clients to produce excellence.
* Perform other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

* Quick learner. Every day is different here. We go fast.
* At least two of the following: Python, Javascript, Node, Shell.
* Experience with REST APIs and JSON.
* Experience with version control systems, preferably Git.
* Operating System experience: maintaining and administering Windows and/or Linux.
* Knowledge of the common cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google, etc) and/or hypervisors (e.g. VMware, KVM), experience a strong plus.
* Able to collaborate and thrive in a fast paced high-performance environment.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* Knowledge of TCP/IP, HTTP, SSL and other common web protocols.
* Knowledge of IP networking: routing, switching, and network standards.

Qualifications

* B.S. degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or other technical degree.
* 1-3 years experience designing, developing and debugging software.
