Responsibilities

Aerospace Cyber Software and Testing Department is looking for a Software Engineer to join our growing team of cyber warriors who design, implement and deploy cyber solutions to defend our nation's most valuable assets in space. We support a variety of customers including the Space Missile Center (SMC), National Reconnaissance Office (NRO), and other civil customers (e.g. NASA), and they all face incredible challenges in protecting their ground networks and satellites systems from sophisticated adversaries as they move from legacy systems to highly resilient, distributed systems utilizing the latest technology such as cloud and cubesats. We are looking for highly motivated engineers who enjoy solving real-world security problems, love to code and interested in systems security, network/cloud security, data protection, embedded systems security, cryptography or software security.

Key Functions

* Perform experimentation and/or assessment to identify cyber vulnerabilities of existing or emerging systems.
* Design and implement advanced cybersecurity techniques to ground-based networks and/or satellite systems
* Perform research and lead team when necessary in the areas of software, hardware and cloud security.
* Proactively interact with customers by presenting project status, technical findings and technical demonstrations.

This position can sit in either El Segundo, CA, Chantilly, VA, or Greenbelt, MD. This role can be filled as a Software Engineer - Cyber Security or Sr. Software Engineer - Cyber Security.

Qualifications

Required for Software Engineer - Cyber Security

* BS or MS degree in computer science, electrical engineering or equivalent technical area of study.
* Proficient with one or more programming languages including but not limited to C/C++, Python, Java.
* 2 or more years of experience in software development related to applications security, cryptography, network security, embedded systems security reverse engineering or malware analysis.
* Ability to obtain a security clearance which is issued by the U.S. government. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.

Preferred

* Active security clearance
* Experience in the development of commercial security products (firewalls, encryption modules, etc.)
* Working knowledge with satellite systems
* Experience in embedded system programming and FPGA development
* Experience in cryptographic systems design (i.e., algorithms, key management)
* Experience network design and protocols, penetration testing and defensive cyber operations
* Knowledge of various cyber tools such as Kali Linux and competitive (e.g. capture the flag) cyber experience
* Experience with Agile methodology and team collaboration tools

Required for Sr. Software Engineer - Cyber Security

* BS or MS degree in computer science, electrical engineering or equivalent technical area of study.
* Proficient with one or more programming languages including but not limited to C/C++, Python, Java.
* 5 or more years of experience in software development related to applications security, cryptography, network security, embedded systems security reverse engineering or malware analysis.
* Ability to obtain a security clearance which is issued by the U.S. government. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.
