Overview

World Travel Holdings Inc. is seeking a Software Engineer to work with a services platform that supports over 30 popular travel brands and over 50 million page views per month. In this role, you will architect, design and implement components of a Java middleware infrastructure. The ideal candidate has 3+ years of Java, is experienced with creating and consuming RESTful web services, is a team player, and has exceptional analytical skills.

Responsibilities

* Design and develop components for the high-volume transactional middleware application
* Contribute to architectural/design feasibility discussions and prototype development
* Write high-quality code and related documentation, perform unit testing and participate in the code-review process
* Own and lead projects! Coordinate with internal and external partners as needed
* Support the application in QA and production environments
* Keep abreast of the latest developments in Java and open source technologies; share knowledge with the team and propose adoption of new technologies

Qualifications

Your star qualities include…

* Masters of science degree in Engineering or a related field plus 2 years of experience in software development using Java
* Experience with Spring Framework or JEE
* Creating and consuming RESTful web services with JSON
* Experience with XML/XSLT
* Working knowledge of Oracle database, SQL, and JDBC
* Exceptional analytical skills and problem solving ability
* Strong, delivery focused work ethic that takes ownership and produces results
* Switch tracks as needed and work in an agile team environment
* Experience with Linux
* Knowledge of high volume customer facing ecommerce web applications and cloud computing concepts
