Role Overview

Collins Aerospace Air Transport Displays Programs is looking for a talented software engineer to help us create displays solutions that are high quality, reliable and safe. Join our team of engineers designing state-of-the-art, industry-leading flight displays for commercial jet airplanes. As a Software Engineer in our Air Transport Displays organization, you will be responsible for working with other software and systems engineers to develop software applications used on air transport category airplanes. Projects include the Large Display System used on the 777x, 787, and other aircraft.

Primary Responsibilities:

* Performing all phases of the software development life cycle including requirements capture, software design and modeling, integrating with hardware and other software components, software system validation and software verification.
* Solving complex software and systems problems.
* This position requires the commitment of professional working hours that may require the employee to extend beyond a typical 7:30 am to 4:30 pm workday, or beyond a 40 hour work week.

Qualifications:

* This position requires a Bachelor's degree in the appropriate discipline and 3 years of relevant experience. In the absence of a degree, 7 years of relevant experience is required.
* Experience developing and verifying software to DO-178B Level C or higher.
* Knowledge of embedded software engineering processes and methodologies.
* Ability to quickly acquire technical domain knowledge and contribute to the design of sophisticated architectural systems.
* Excellent communication skills (verbal, written and presentation).
* The candidate must be highly motivated and a self-starter, capable of prioritizing multiple tasks.
* The candidate must be willing to work with a wide variety of people and diverse teams.

Preferred, but not required, experience/skills with any of the following:

* Experience with partitioned operating systems.
* Experience developing software for LynxOS-178.
* Experience with real-time embedded software development and aircraft systems is highly desirable.
* Experience with ARINC standards ARINC 664, ARINC 661.
