AEye develops advanced vision hardware, software and algorithms that act as the eyes and visual cortex of autonomous vehicles. Since its demonstration of its solid state LiDAR scanner in 2013, AEye has pioneered breakthroughs in intelligent sensing. AEye is looking for a highly motivated individual with experience in software engineering at several experience levels and domain areas. We are looking for exceptionally capable and motivated person who values wide and diverse skill sets, and enjoys a fast-paced startup environment in the area of autonomous vehicles, robotics, and advanced perception.

Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities:

* Design, develop, code and test software systems or applications for software enhancements and new products; revise and refine as required.
* Participate in agile scrum development of project timelines, implementation design specifications, system flow diagrams, documentation, testing and ongoing support of systems.
* Recommend modifications to processes and procedures, and contribute to best practices, architecture, and implementations.
* Promote and solicit ideas within project teams.
* Be a value-add member of the software engineering team.
* Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (required):

* Background in physics, engineering, or related field
* C/C++, Python, Qt

Preferred Skills & Experience (useful):

* Masters level software experience with perception
* Rigorous C++ coding experience
* Embedded real-time coding experience
* Experience with Google Suite
* Experience in a fast-paced and demanding startup experience.
