JOB SUMMARY

Kymeta is looking for an exceptional Software Engineer, focused on building creative and innovative solutions software for our next generation embedded products and production process software. The SWE is expected to collaborate within a cross disciplined team to create and execute development & test plans, develop features, automated test and enhance automated regression testing. The candidate will also help on developing next generation production technology.

SKILLS

* Strong programming experience in C, C++ and Python.
* Collaborative team player with clear communication and documentation skills.
* Self-directed and motivated individual with a strong desire to breakdown larger problems into successful implementations.
* Embedded software development tools set such as Eclipse or IAR Integrated Development Environment
* Motivation to understand how the system works as an entirety and the ability to focus on the details needed to drive
* Version control and build systems such as: Git, Buildroot, Jenkins

EXPERIENCE

* 3+ years of overall software engineering experience in embedded Systems for Linux/RTOS using C or C++
* 1+ year of experience with Agile/SCRUM
* 1+ year of experience of developing automated testing for embedded systems
* 1+ year of experience with RESTful interfaces, curl
* 1+ year of experience profiling applications for performance characterization.
* Demonstrated experience shipping embedded software products

ADDITIONAL PLUSES

* Practical knowledge of antenna/satellite communications.
* Control system design and implementation.
* Familiarity with electrical engineering principles for board bring up (schematic reading, timing)
* Experience with MATLAB
* Experience with advanced math skills (Statistics, Inferential statistics, linear regression)
* Practical knowledge of signal processing.
* Practical knowledge of machine learning frameworks, Hadoop, Spark and Splunk

EDUCATION

* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or other technical field (e.g., math, physics) required.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* Develop high quality embedded software and automated regression test based on the embedded software requirements and design.
* Formulate test strategies; creating test plans and test cases for regression, functional and performance testing.
* Work directly with project team including system engineers and product owner during the software development process. Apply the principles of the software development life cycle throughout the entire development process.
* Report problems via the defect tracking system Analyze, research, and track software defects through their resolution. Verify code fixes and sign off on resolutions.
* Analyze test results and prepare test summary reports.
* Review and analyze software requirements for completeness, lack of ambiguity, and testability.
