Team Overview:We are the Digital Patient Experience software development team. We create new and innovative solutions that empower patients and healthcare providers to effectively manage all aspect of healthcare through mobile, web and interactive solutions revolutionizing healthcare engagement today. Our team creates a competitive advantage through dramatically improved productivity and customer satisfaction enabled through our software applications and delivered by a highly skilled and motivated full-cycle software development & support organization.Position Summary:The ideal candidate for this role will be experienced in all aspects of full scale software development and support including coding, testing and documentation of web and mobile applications. Our full stack software engineer will work closely with User Experience & Design and Architecture teams to evaluate recommendations, translate design requirements into highly engaging web and mobile apps from conception to production and maintain high quality service levels for our customer base.

Remote candidates will be considered. Will be required to travel to NY office on occasion.

Responsibilities

* Engage in the full product lifecycle as part of a cross-functional, agile team to gain deep understanding of the problems we need to solve and apply that knowledge to building solutions
* Craft highly scalable, robust, and maintainable services and APIs using best practices, including test-driven development
* Perform efficient coding, testing and creating full documentation in the areas of software development and maintenance
* Production and revision of accurate detailed estimates
* Production, preparation and execution of unit test plans
* Timely and accurate reporting of project status
* Ownership of assigned software and non-software deliverables
* Production of accurate, unambiguous technical design specifications to the required level of detail and in the timescales as defined by project management
* Completion of all necessary software and non-software components in the timescales as defined by project management
* Production of supporting technical and installation documentation for internal and external publication
* Collaboration with Architecture, Business Analysts, internal and / or external customers to ensure that requirements are understood implemented accordingly

Quality and adherence to Standards

* Technical specifications, code and / or test plans produced are all in line with the Traceability Matrix / Functional Specification
* Adhere to secure coding standards, Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) standards, apply Web Accessibility standards (508 compliance), and allow for effective Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
* Ensure all work is reviewed to ensure adherence to the relevant development standards.
* Participate in peer review and sign-off of others work
* Escalate product issues and suggest product improvements
* Mentor junior team members in best practices and standards

Qualifications

Academic and Professional Qualifications:

* BA or BS degree preferred and/or other relevant combination of training and experience

Experience:

* 0-2 years Industry experience preferred
* 2-5 years' experience as Software EngineerStrong interpersonal, organizational and communications skills
* Time management skills, multi-tasking and ability to adapt to changing priorities
* Highly skilled in the principals of software engineering and programming aspects
* Ability to write clean, scalable / modular code managed through source control
* Ability to design and code for accessibility, including section 508 requirements
* Skilled agile practitioner with experience in scrum, backlog management and sprinting
* Knowledge and experience with JavaScript, HTML5 and CSS3, PHP and Node.js
* Experience with JavaScript Libraries and Frameworks (e.g. React, JQuery, Angular)
* Experience with Federated identity and SSO standards (e.g. SAML, OAuth), desired
* Experience with React Native, desired
* Experience with Pattern Lab, desired
* Experience with open source content management platforms (e.g. Drupal, WordPress), desired
* Experience with Gigya's Registration as a Service, a plus

Travel Requirements:

* May require local travel
* May require other travel for business needs

Working Arrangements:

* Work is performed in a standard office environment with minimal exposure to health or safety hazards
* May require after hours on call support
