Job Description

Illumina is seeking a Software Automation Engineer to work within the Factory of the Future department. This is a technical role directly responsible for

Implementing solutions for Manufacturing shopfloor automation

The individual will work with cross functional resources to ensure they meet Illumina's Quality Standards and industry best practices. Candidate should be proficient in understanding the business requirements.

Specific Accountabilities:

* Design and build scalable functionality per business requirements.
* Work with Solution Architect to meet business needs
* Manage service requests and customer expectations in alignment with defined service and operational level agreements.
* Proactively troubleshoot and determine the best configuration to optimize application configuration to ensure performance and reliability.
* Document and communicate procedures, configurations, standards, etc.
* Works in collaboration with the development, analysts, business users and database teams to ensure service availability and prompt issue resolution.
* Able to work in a fast paced, agile environment

Technical Knowledge:

* Machine connectivity via OPC/OPC UA
* Experience with SECS/GEM
* Java, Groovy scripting
* Vaadin UI Design
* C#
* jUnit, nUnit, Test driven development
* SQL
* SOAP/REST web services
* UML
* Direct experience with ZNT PAC is an advantage
* Direct experience with Siemens Camstar is an advantage

Education/Experience:

* Bachelor's degree preferred but related technical certification and experience considered.
* 3-5 or more years of experience in hands on Software Development.
