Deloitte & Touche LLP seeks a Software Engineer 2 in Dallas, TX.

Work You'll Do

Identify and evaluate complex business and technology risks, internal controls that mitigate risks, and related opportunities for internal control improvement. Assist in the selection and tailoring of approaches, methods, and tools to support service offerings or industry projects. Use technology-based tools or methodologies to review, design, and/or implement products and services. Construct and assess high-level and detailed security programs translating business needs and regulatory requirements into cost effective and risk appropriate controls. Identify opportunities to improve engagement profitability. Understand clients' business environment and basic risk management approaches. Develop information security strategies and plans based upon generally accepted security standards. Utilize knowledge of business processes, internal control risk management, IT controls, business and information technology management processes, and market trends on client engagements. Generate innovative ideas and participate in decision making with engagement management. Build and nurture strong client relationships.

Requirements

* Bachelor's (or higher) degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent).


* One year of experience utilizing ETL reporting and scheduling tools, including Informatica, Talend, Business Objects, Appwox, Autosys, SSAS, SSRS, and SSIS.


* Experience must include one year of:
* Developing, modifying, and communicating reports to client, performing requirements gathering and data mapping, and creating tables and loading into databases;


* Implementing Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) in Business Objects applications;


* Identifying and recommending new technologies and tools for enhancing product value and increasing productivity;


* Troubleshooting and resolving application production issues identified, analyzing the root cause of issues, and backtracking the product APIs based on Python;


* Utilizing Linux, Shell, and Python scripting languages and programming Java languages, and utilizing git, stash, Jenkins, and CI for maintaining coding standards and automation techniques;


* Contributing to ETL Design & Development using Talend for moving data from file system to Postgres/Cassandra databases or APIs/HDFS or Hive;


* Analyzing business user and functional requirements including computer system validation, regulatory compliance, and company procedure compliance;


* Developing validation and system test plans, test case scenarios, and regression test plans, and testing management using HP Quality Center (ALM), and JIRA;


* Working on Agile Scrum Methodology, and preparing UAT test scripts and coordinating with stakeholders for the execution; and


* Mentoring and coaching junior team members.
