Senior Software Development Manager for AutoCAD Web

Position Overview

As a Software Development Manager responsible for AutoCAD Web, you will lead a team of software engineers and product visionaries responsible for re-imagining Autodesk's flagship product and building AutoCAD for the cloud

You and your team will design and build a development platform for building web-based CAD applications, build efficient and reusable front-end abstractions and systems, identify and address performance bottlenecks and push the envelope on cutting edge web browser technologies and front-end engineering best practices

Responsibilities

* You will be responsible for the Web engineering domain in the AutoCAD product line and represent Web engineering in the AutoCAD engineering leadership team


* You will be responsible for the performance of the software development function, including the design, development, troubleshooting, and debugging of software programs for software enhancements and new products.


* You will hire, manage and develop a professional staff


* You will provide insight / feedback / recommendations to senior management regarding the development, performance, capabilities, and future potential of assigned software projects


* You will join a team of software development professionals who take pride in delivering products that reach hundreds of thousands of customers, generate hundreds of millions of dollars in annual revenue, and create tools used in the Building, Mechanical and Infrastructure industries



Minimum Qualifications

* B.S. or M.S. degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field


* 10 years of professional software development experience


* 3 years of engineering management experience


* Industry experience of delivering at least 2 major software title releases


* Experience with developing cross-platform software components


* Software development experience in a web and cloud environment


* Experience with Agile/Scrum development methodologies


* Strong written and communication skills


* Superb skills in supporting junior, mid, and senior level developers


* Experience in managing software projects across different geos and time zones


* Formal training in software engineering or project management


* Familiarity with CAD software (Architectural, Mechanical, or Civil design) is a plus


* Experience with JavaScript and Node.js development is a plus


* Experience with modern web development frameworks (React.js/Angular) is a plus


* Experience with AWS is a plus


* Experience with Test Driven Development and continuous delivery
