We are looking for a Software Development Manager to manage our capacity team. This team is responsible for ensuring we are able to meet the scale of our customers demands as well as balancing our virtual load balancers across our hardware so we are optimizing the utilization of our resources. This leader will also be responsible for working on a next generation product we are building. This leader will own staffing and managing the team for a key part of the service, setting the team culture, best practices, planning, and delivering on the product roadmap. The successful candidate will be comfortable dealing with ambiguity, be very customer-centric, and able to think big. This candidate will also be very savvy at motivating teams and managing change as we transform how we operate our service.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about the potential of high-scale load balancing solutions as well as about building great resilient, scalable and high-performance services. A high level of ownership and accountability is a must.

As a manager of this team, you will be leading a team of highly motivated software and system developers that thrive on solving challenging problems with innovative solutions building large-scale distributed software systems in Java, Python, Perl, and other Amazon's proprietary technologies.
