Our team is growing and we're looking for a Software Development Engineer who leads by doing, has a passion for solving problems at massive scale and brings their best self to work everyday. Together we'll improve, iterate and reimagine the search experience at Amazon and shape the next generation of shopping. We'll work with a wide variety of internal business partners and teams to craft a modern, elegant search experience for one of the largest product catalogs in the world.

You have a deep background in digital, geek out over customer experience, tech and commerce and believe that no experience is perfect unless it delights customers in unexpected ways. Software Developers in this position will use their skills to develop responsive interfaces that are highly performant, extensible and used by multiple user types. You think about data visualization to influence decisions and how to build dynamic interfaces to support those designs. You will work closely with UX designers and develop measurable customer feedback to judge the effectiveness of Search. Team members are expected to have strong object-oriented design and programming skills.

What you will do

* Collaborate and partner with design technologists, search designers and design leadership to build web technologies for search design across Amazon
* Work with Key Partners, Research, Product Owners and Engineers to understand the customer need and deliver software that satisfy our customers
* Bring strong, user-centered development skills and business knowledge to your software
* Partner with design in development tasks
* Develop prototypes to can move to actual development
