Job Description

Zonar's applications ensure the safety and effectiveness of school buses, freight and vocational vehicles. Join the team that develops the applications that provide compliance and safety information for tens of thousands of vehicles and drivers, plus their fleet managers and dispatchers.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

* Architect, implement, and deploy services on the Google Cloud Platform.
* Maintain and improve Zonar's existing service infrastructure.
* Migrate legacy systems to the cloud.
* Work in a fast-paced Scrum environment in a pod of 4-8 developers and designers delivering complete features for end users.
* Work closely with other team members in guiding software architecture and technology decisions.
* Mentor, document, and share knowledge, growing the technical capability of the team around you.
* Participate in the on-call support rotation for services Mobile Platform owns, while building up Zonar's runbooks and support infrastructure.
* Follow software engineering best practices in code, architecture, and testing.



WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE TEAM

* A passion for delivering and owning robust, scalable services.
* A desire to learn and research new technologies.
* A knack for collaborating and sharing knowledge within a self-organizing dev team.
* 4+ years working in software development teams.
* Solid foundation in data structures, algorithms and software design, with strong analytical and debugging skills.
* Strong knowledge of Python and RESTful service development
* Working knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases
* Experience deploying and maintaining scalable services in Kubernetes to the GCP.Bonus points for familiarity with Datadog monitoring.
* Familiarity with CI/CD testing, tooling, and processes
* Ability to navigate ambiguous requirements through communication and iteration, creating clarity for yourself and those around you
* Ability to work well with others, learn on the job, and thrive in a dynamic work environment.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience.
