Job Description

The Software Developer - Level III will join the ISD Customer Service Application Development Group in supporting the portfolio of American Honda Finance Corporations (AHFC) application systems. The main function of this position is to code, tests, and debugs new software or makes enhancements to existing software. This position is to ensure the application systems are meeting AHFC's current business requirements, and also to ensure that the systems maintain strategic alignment with current and future business and ISO requirements. This job includes participating in the requirements gathering, business rule definition, systems development, presentation design, upgrades and providing production support. The Software Developer - Level Ill also provides customers with support or access to support from within ISD (encompassing the extended ISD organization).

The Software Developer - Level III will ensure compliance with SOX mandates, project management, development, and other standardized practices, standards, and methodologies

Responsibilities:

* Writes programs according to specifications from higher level staff or business analysts
* Develops technical documentation
* Resolves in a timely manner problems that arise with existing production applications to ensure the efficient and proper functioning of application components
* Collaborates with technical staff to learn and understand software problems
* Generates a variety of complex and periodic reports and/or data through database management, data administration and data extraction techniques
* Provides general system users and management with system analysis and feedback
* Influences system design by identifying and recommending design and requirements needs for software enhancements
* Mentors and coaches less experienced staff
* Maximizes the efficiency of the various software systems by implementing, monitoring, testing and auditing new software programs
* Analyzes and resolves computer related problems by coordinating with in-house personnel to diagnose and fix operational difficulty, as well as consulting, advising and training on specialized features and functions
* Follows established configuration/change control processes
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent work related experience
* 13 years of work experience plus 5-7 years experience with major DBMS, 5-7 years experience with coding, testing and design
* 5 years experience with software development methodologies plus a minimum of 3 years Automotive Finance experience
* High level of personal integrity and the ability to professionally handle confidential matters
* High degree of initiative, dependability and ability to work with minimal supervision
* Broad understanding of the compliance landscape as it relates to IT.
* Exposure in a project management and/or lead role
* Exposure in team building, interpersonal skills, presentation skills, conflict and issue resolution
* Ability to gather and clearly document requirement, coordinate and facilitate meetings
* Ability to interact directly with customer contacts
* Expertise of AHM ISD's and industry stand project methodologies
* Technical Environment Experience: ASP.Net, Active Server Page (ASP), JavaScript, jQuery, AJAX, XML interfaces, Microsoft SQL Server, SSO, Visio, Stored Procedures,SQL Server, XML,Quality Center
