Symetra's Benefits IT team is looking to hire a full time developer. This individual will work with the delivery team and business partners to help build, maintain and deliver technology forward solutions used by Symetra's customers. Working under general supervision as an individual contributor, this individual will be expected to partner with others in estimating development efforts based on high level requirements.

A passion for delivering high quality software solutions along with excellent analytical, problem solving and interpersonal skills is desired. The ideal candidate will have background in C#, .Net, and JavaScript languages, experience in Agile methodologies, and have exposure/experience in utilizing Cloud environments and related tools.

Requirements:

* Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, or discipline related to industry. Work experience may be substituted for educational credentials


* Minimum of 2 to 4 years of development experience required.


* Soft skills: Track record of meeting deadlines and delivering high quality results. Accountability and ownership of your work and actions. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to effectively communicate with technical peers within IT.


* Technical skills: Experience with Agile development methodologies. C#, .Net, and JavaScript. Experience with major public cloud services (e.g. AWS).


* Background in Insurance, Investment or Financial business & systems preferred


* Work effectively with business and technical subject matter experts, other developers, systems analysts, quality assurance analysts, third party vendors and IT management
