Job Description

TransCore (TRN), a subsidiary of Roper Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: ROP) is seeking a full-time Software Developer to join our team in Long Island City, New York.

Job Summary: Software Developer (Full Stack) will work on enhancements for the Customer Service Center back office system software. The Software Developer (Full Stack) will involve continuous interaction with both the operations and development teams in various TransCore locations. The Software Developer (Full Stack) will possess a thorough understanding of our systems which use tiered architecture and object-oriented technology, Microsoft's .NET framework as our software development platform, Visual Studio as our software development tool and MS SQL Server 2014, currently in 2012 compatibility mode.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

* In support of the development processes assist other developers with peer code review, functionality testing cycles for system builds and additional software releases
* Ability to implement technical specs and software solutions based on provided functional specifications
* Support the back-office operations management team by troubleshooting issues that may arise specifically to ensuring performance metrics are met daily
* Comfortable multi-tasking and working as part of a global team, as well as working independently and taking ownership
* Research alternative design enhancement solutions and recommend software efficiencies that meet technical and business requirements for the back-office system
* Responsible for working on approved change requests, change orders and software QC's as needed
* Utilize Microsoft SQL Server to write new and update existing SQL scripts, procedures, views to support the operations and customer needs.
* Develop new back-end processes for required routine jobs
* Participate in all technical meetings for systems and operational discussions with our Operations Management Team and the software development team
* Work closely with other development members of the team to maintain component reusability and integrity of the system
* Support additional TransCore locations on an emergency basis as needed.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Software Development with at least 5+ years of experience. Master's degree preferred

Required Skills & Experience:

* Understanding concepts of data modeling and system configuration
* C+ VB.Net
* Experience using visual studio and TFS
* Working knowledge of RDBMS (Relational Database Management Systems) concepts.
* Strong understanding of best practices and coding disciplines
* Solid hands-on experience with analytics. Includes data analysis, generating insights and providing actionable recommendations
* Solid understanding and experience with T-SQL and SQL Server
* Solid working knowledge of applications for data analysis and presentation (i.e., Microsoft SQL Server, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, VISIO etc.)
* Experience with back office tolling operations a plus
* Proven track record of delivering high-quality data and reporting results on time and within deadlines
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, both at detail and summary levels
