Job Description

Purpose Of Role:

Responsible for developing, designing and delivering SIEM security solutions for specific SIEM security opportunities.

* The role holder is responsible for providing effective support of projects/ operational support tasks, dealing with all relevant issues under the guidance of the manager.
* He/she provides support in the formulation of network, technology, systems and information strategy and evolution plans, and operational support policies and procedures.
* The role holder provides assistance in meeting business objectives, solving business problems and furthering business success by applying industry, applications and technical knowledge through the definition of high level solutions on projects or the development of operational processes and procedures.
* The role holder should leverage the experience of the relevant BT wide professional communities to discharge these responsibilities, thus ensuring knowledge sharing extends beyond the functional boundary of the role. The role holder may also play a key part in the BT wide professional communities.

Key Responsibilities:

* Responsible for developing, designing and delivering SIEM security solutions for specific security opportunities.


* Once the opportunity has been developed sufficiently to enter into a bid cycle, the role holder will support the creation of the design and, through engagement of the wider bid team, support the development of the overall design proposition. This may include, but not limited to, networks, products, systems, service, business processes and people.

* Able to maintain a reputation for quality and delivery of their expertise to the business.
* Assists in the definition of strategy and evolution and associated infrastructure investments for Group/LoB.

* Assists with the transformation strategy for a network, platform or technology discipline in own area of expertise.

* Works under general direction within a clear framework of accountability. Substantial personal responsibility and autonomy.
* Plans own work, to meet given objectives and processes.
* Budget responsibility varying depending on lines of business and project delivery responsibility.

Qualifications:

* May have a degree qualification (engineering/science) or has served a technical apprenticeship and/or obtained NVQ and/or further education technical qualifications (i.e. HND).
* Qualified to be and possibly member of a professional engineering/science institution and working towards chartered engineer accreditation. Relevant professional experience.

Skills/Experience:

* Experience of working in a solution design role for security systems and/or experience working within a managed security organisation with SIEM applications and platforms (IBM QRadar, McAfee, Log Rhythm or Splunk ES with exposure to, or proven experience of, AWS solution provision).
* Extensive IT and data network experience with a proven track record in security.
* Experience of stakeholder management. Must have knowledge of risk management processes, recognised abilities in security management, network and information security and people security. Strong documentation experience and the ability to improve/drive design/implementation processes and procedures with experience of working in an environment using the ITIL framework.
* Understanding of relevant compliance regulations and an Industry specific qualifications such as CISSP, CISM and CISA.·
* Excellent Planning & execution skills.
