Job Description:

Tester will be responsible for executing functional software validation testing on a wide-range of configurations and Set Top Box (STB) models.

Role includes:

* Evaluate software and hardware functionality
* Identify, report and track defects
* Perform post production testing
* Use proprietary pre-programmed Linux commands
* Created and execute test cases using Jira testing tool
* Install software on the set top boxes using computer bitstream player and modulator combination
* Test video-on-demand application, Flash web client, and static websites; cross browsers, PC, and Mac OS.
* Test machines configuration and layout; switches and routers setup.
* Setup test lab for live streaming application interacting with set-top boxes.

This position also requires understanding of software and hardware testing methodologies closely with internal and external partners to understand the testing and sample requirements, manage the process of sample distribution, activations, software upgrades/flashing and managing the test samples inventory.

Required Skills:

* 2+ years of hands on experience in testing environment preferably with video streaming or set top box testing
* Strong problem solving and analytical skills, communication (verbal and written) skills, and organizational/documentation skills.
* Good task management skills
* Experience in identifying causes of defects, developing improvement processes, and communicating solutions to management or customers.
* Basic Linux and PC skills
