Oculus Research, the research division of Oculus (Facebook), is looking for a world-class Sensor Characterization & Applications Engineer to support the development of next generation image sensors. The successful candidate will be part of the sensing team innovating, developing and integrating hardware and algorithms for future generations of HMD devices.

Responsibilities

* Collaborate with internal and external design team, computer vision scientists, optical experts and system architects to develop next generation sensor technologies
* Develop and implement sensor characterization plan for sensors & technologies
* Support internal sensor customers in their sensors and modules use
* Develop and implement light projection system
* Responsible for lab operations, test bench and optical equipment
* Responsible for data collection, processing algorithm development, and test automation
* Responsible for managing external vendors on test bring up
* Responsible for sensor debugging, design of experiments to solve issues
* International and domestic travel may be required

Minimum Qualifications

* 4+ years of industry experience in sensor fundamentals, operation and performance metrics
* Working knowledge of optics, radiometry, photometry and image analysis
* Experience working in an electro-optical laboratory environment
* Programming Experience: C/C++, MATLAB, Python LabVIEW, etc.
* Experience in cross multi-disciplinary boundaries to drive system solutions

Preferred Qualifications

* M.S in Electrical Engineering, Optics, Physics, or a related discipline.
